Sirius Black deserves more than just being a ‘father figure’ to Harry Potter
When it comes to characters in the Harry Potter series, there are a few who have a lot of time to be explored but Sirius Black has such an interesting history we never get to see.
Sirius Black isn’t just Harry Potter’s godfather. He was so much more but we didn’t get to really see his importance in the movies or even that much in the books. Maybe it is because there was so much going on but it still feels like the Harry Potter series needs to explore their secondary characters more.
Again and again we bring up the Marauders and it is because they are characters we have come to love. They are a mystery to us because we didn’t get to spend that much time with them. The plot became a more important focal point (which isn’t a bad thing, it just furthers our desires to understand these characters). So, do we now, as fans, deserve more information on Sirius Black?
In short, yes. He was given to us, so rich with history and story, and then we didn’t get to see more of him. We barely scratched the surface of his character and his relationships with his friends and Harry and then he was gone.
There’s no excuse as to why we don’t know more about Sirius Black and the rest of the Marauders and hopefully, there will be some kind of series focusing on them soon because, to be quite honest, they’re the most interesting part of the Harry Potter series.
