Harry Potter and Dobby the House Elf: The importance of Dobby to the series

Dobby has always been an important part of the Harry Potter series and there’s a reason we love him so much and want to keep the character alive in our social media and jokes.

He may be running out of someone’s home but that doesn’t mean we still don’t love Dobby! In a recent viral video, it became clear that our favorite House Elf is always going to remain as such. Mainly because we have a love for him that isn’t going to go away any time soon.

When it comes to Dobby, our love comes from the fact that he was there and ready to support Harry Potter at every turn. And when he died, it was like watching one of the few constants that Harry had leave. He might not have been the best but he did care very deeply about Harry and willingly threw himself in the line of fire to protect Harry Potter.

So…watching what looks like Dobby walk out of a house? That’s just fun. And everyone clung to the idea of talking about the House Elf because, for so long, we had to only think of him in a sad light. But, according to Twitter and the CCTV, he’s fine and a free elf.

In all seriousness, Dobby is a beautiful character and one that we very clearly look to because he willingly protected Harry Potter no matter the cost and that’s the kind of character you want on your side.
