The votes are almost in. This week, we’ll find out if Kat Edison is destined to be her district’s next city councilwoman.

Among The Bold Type fans, Kat has been a leader for a long time. But this week, it all comes down to the voters of her district. After a campaign that has brought her new love, new experiences – both wonderful and awful – and even some old love, Team Edison is down to “The Final Push.”

Here’s the episode’s synopsis, courtesy of Freeform:

"When Kat beings [sic] to doubt herself on the eve of her election, an unexpected person gives her the reassurance she needs. Jane and Jacqueline are confident about their workplace harassment investigation and decide to take action. Sutton coaches Carly through a difficult situation at school."

Adena certainly wouldn’t fall under the “unexpected” category, so who exactly is this unexpected person that helps Kat? Jacqueline isn’t exactly unexpected, but then again, she’d be giving up an invaluable member of her team. Then again, maybe Patrick resurfaces this week – the possibilities are pretty wide on this one.

Then again, considering everything on Jacqueline’s plate this week, we might be able to rule her out. Even as a team, going to war against Pamela Dolan won’t be quick or painless.

If Oliver is on the team this week, that might explain why Sutton takes charge of helping Carly out at school. Or, maybe it’s just an issue that requires a big sister. Whatever the reason, seeing Sutton step into this role should be a lot of fun.

It can’t go overlooked that Ryan is currently out on his book tour, meaning he’ll miss whatever fallout occurs for Jane. But, with any luck, he’ll be easier to reach this week. There’s no mention of the next adventures of Jane and Alex as roommates, but one can only hope there’s plenty more to come.
