Watch Spider-Man: Far from Home’s new international trailer

A trailer from China has some fresh new Spider-Man: Far from Home footage as well as some already-familiar jokes and scenes.

China will get to see Spider-Man: Far from Home nearly a week earlier than the United States will, so it’s not much surprise that the country is getting a trailer with some new footage. With June 28 less than a month away, it’s time to get the hype train rolling.

However, said hype comes from a tonally weird place, all things considered, because most of the new stuff is from Mysterio. (Also, there’s absolutely no spoiler warning in front of the trailer, but if you haven’t seen Avengers: Endgame, we don’t know what to tell you other than that you’re probably going to want to see it before Far from Home.)

Check it out below:

It’s not dissimilar to the American Far from Home trailer in the sense that it starts on a particularly somber note. Of course, that note is different, because it’s not about the missing Tony Stark, but rather simply the path of a hero, as told by Mysterio to Peter. There’s some of that in the American trailer, but it comes later, after all of the jokes.

There are far fewer jokes in this trailer, but we do see what looks like MJ hugging Peter unmasked while wearing his Spidey suit. As always, knowing someone’s superpowered secret complicates matters, but let’s face it: MJ almost certainly knows already, as Peter is not slick, bless him. She may act like she’s joking in the scene in the American trailer, but she’s probably not. It also looks like they’re hugging in London, since they’re on what appears to be the familiar Tower Bridge when they do it. Same with Happy trying to rescue everyone on a jet before the jet explodes — you can spot the bridge’s blue supports in the background.

Note also that there’s an extension of what looks like the scene where Peter jokes to the cops in New York about going on vacation. The same greenish fish tank is present in both trailers, with Peter going full Iron Spider in this one to take out the bad guys. Tony’s legacy is alive and well.

While China gets Far from Home on June 28, it’ll drop on July 2 here in the States.
