One of the great things about Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is that it can be as immersive or as un-immersive as you want it to be. If you want to go in and just ride the attraction and eat some lunch, that’s completely fine. But if you want to truly live your personal Star Wars story, that’s fine too.

We’ve seen people transform their cell phone case to look like a Star Wars data pad, cosplay is welcome as long as it abides by Disney’s costume policy, and people are even creating their own Star Wars back stories to bring with them into the land to have an authentic Star Wars conversation with the inhabitants of Batuu.

When I went to Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland on opening day, I created my own backstory, and the Cast Members who worked in the area loved that I was just as excited as they were to be a part of the Star Wars story that was unfolding all around them. Each Cast Member has their own back story and how they fit in at Black Spire Outpost, too, so it only seems appropriate that travelers who are visiting the planet have a unique story as well.
