What’s new in June for PlayStation Plus members?
PlayStation announced its June game offerings for their PlayStation Plus members. And, let’s be honest, they are two solid options.
Maybe that delay in announcing the May games for PlayStation Plus members meant that Sony was pulling their act together for June… because it honestly feels that way.
Below are the two new offerings for the month of June:
- Sonic Mania
- Borderlands: The Handsome Collection
These are two solid options for PlayStation Plus members this month, so let’s dive right in.
Sonic Mania came out in 2017 and was a great throwback to the good ol’ Sega days. It’s a solid Sonic game: Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles face off against Dr. Eggman across classic stages and some new ones, too.
It all flows together so well that it almost makes you feel like a kid again. And don’t worry–those old levels have some new tricks up their sleeves that might just throw you for a loop or two. Possibly literally.
And don’t forget that there’s an online co-op mode for the game as well you can take advantage of.
Borderlands: The Handsome Collection contains both Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel along with all of their DLCs. If you have never played a Borderlands game or you want to prepare yourself for the September release of Borderlands 3, this is your opportunity to visit–or revisit–most of the franchise.
The Borderlands games are ridiculous first-person shooters, to put it simply. The humor in them never ceases to crack me up no matter how many times I play through or watch online videos. If you’re looking for a loot-based FPS, don’t let this opportunity go to waste.
These are two excellent offerings from PlayStation. If you were interested in a PlayStation Plus membership and were on the fence, this might be the best time to pick it up, especially if you’re looking for a gateway into a well-established gaming franchise.
Both games will be available to download in June. As always, don’t forget that the May offerings are still available to download for Plus members until June 3.
