Spider-Man is coming to terms with himself in a post-Endgame world. In this new TV spot, we see our favorite web-slinger trying to cope with the loss of Iron Man.
After the shocking events of Avengers: Endgame, one of the big questions we have is, “Where do we go from here?” In a world without Tony Stark, what will become of our beloved Spider-Man, who looked up to Tony, and relied on him in his new superhero world?
In a new TV spot for Spider-Man: Far From Home, we get those answers. We see Peter Parker, Happy, and Nick Fury, all navigating the Starkless world together. Peter doesn’t know if he can fill in the shoes left behind by Iron Man.
You can see the new TV spot in the clip below.
With so much pressure on him, sometimes it feels like a lot of people seem to forget that Spider-Man is still in high school. (Peter Parker has yet to even go to his own prom!) I’d be interested to see how Peter navigates his new life going forward, since he doesn’t have Iron-Man to step in and help anymore.
All that aside, Fury and Happy both have a lot of faith in Peter, with Fury noting that Tony Stark made him an Avenger, something the world needs. Happy also tells Peter that he will survive this, after Peter asks him to deliver something to MJ in case he doesn’t come back. It’s also worth noting that it looks like MJ is fully aware that Peter is Spider-Man, and is in for a roller coaster of emotions after figuring this big secret out. We also see a quick clip of Mysterio battling the Elementals — but it is possible Mysterio will turn heel before the end of the film.
We also see Spider-Man in a new black suit, though it’s clearly not a Venom suit. It could be a stealth Spider-Man get-up, left behind by Tony, adding an additional emotional punch. On top of that, the movie is opening up the idea of alternate worlds — which could, in turn, give Peter false hope that Tony Stark is still alive out there.
Far From Home is going to be an emotional ride for all of us, and we can’t wait to see how everything plays out. What are you looking forward to in the new Spider-Man flick?
