The Bold Type season 3 episode 8 live stream: Watch online

A familiar face is returning to The Bold Type this week, and she could be stirring up some trouble for Kat. Ready or not, Adena is back.

Timing. Is. Everything.

Right now, it isn’t Kat and Adena’s strong suit. Last week, Adena texted Kat at the exact wrong moment – or, for Kadena shippers, maybe the exact right moment. Of course, given her current situation, Kat didn’t see it right away.

This week, it’s all about timing the reunion. Kat will inevitably have to see her ex, and it will likely be very awkward.

If Freeform’s synopsis of the episode (and the episode’s promo) is to be believed though, Kat won’t get any say in the timing of it all:

"When Adena returns to New York, Kat debates whether she’s ready to see her, but quickly realizes she might not have a choice. Sutton is stretched in too many directions between styling for Oliver and designing for her seminar, causing friction with Richard."

Right now, it’s unclear why exactly Adena is back in the city. The episode promo indicates she’s shooting something for Scarlet, but did they contact her? Or did she offer up her services on her own?

Regardless, if Adena is shooting for Oliver, it means Sutton will be close at hand – add that to one of the many directions she’s being pulled in. But at this point, she and Richard have talked through everything this season, so this shouldn’t be any different (right?).

The synopsis makes no mention of Jane, so we’ll have to wait to see the latest development in the Pamela Dolan investigation.

Food for thought: when we first met Adena, she was working on an installation all about what’s beneath the surface of people in photos. Could it be possible that she’s crossed paths and worked with a model who worked with Pamela?
