Dinosaurs come back to life in DINOSAUR, a heart-pounding adventure in DinoLand U.S.A. at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Aboard time-traveling vehicles, guests are whisked back 65 million years on a lurching, twisting journey to save the last dinosaur from extinction. Disney’s Animal Kingdom is located at Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. (Kent Phillips, photographer).

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park is home to one of Disney’s cutest area, DinoLand U.S.A. This land is based on the idea of a roadside carnival, complete with carnival games, rides, and picture spots. The cornerstone attraction inside the land is Dinosaur, a fast-action time travel themed attraction.

Dinosaur starts off with guests touring the old wing, which is set up like a natural history museum with artifacts and a full-size replica of a dinosaur skeleton. Once guests enter the pre-show room, they are introduced to their guide, Dr. Seeker, who is a heck of a paleontologist. With a little help from Dr. Seeker, you’re going to go back in time to the age of the dinosaurs. But be warned, things might go a little different than what you’ve been told.

Once on the ride vehicle, which is an open-air Jeep of sorts, you’ll encounter all types of dinosaurs, from raptors to the styracosaurus. Be sure to watch out for the carnotaurus, he’s definitely not your friend and is super scary when you encounter him throughout the attraction.

This attraction is great for older kids and families who are looking for moderate thrills. A FastPass+ reservation is not necessary for the attraction since its wait time can fluctuate throughout the day and typically is around 20 to 30 minutes. Dinosaur is definitely not for small children who get scared of the dark or loud noises. Guests can utilize Disney’s Rider Switch service for Dinosaur if needed.
