Space Mountain
One of Magic Kingdom Park’s three mountains, Space Mountain rises above the park’s skyline with an iconic top spire and bright white exterior. Upon entering the massive building inside Tomorrowland, guests are greeted with cool air conditioning and darkness.
The journey to the final frontier is about to begin. As you walk through the queue, you’ll notice different dioramas of space, galaxies, and star clusters. When you get closer to the launch point, on the right, you’ll see a cutout window where guests are whizzing by in their space shuttles, which builds on the anticipation to get to the ride vehicle.
Shortly after you make it to your ride car you’ll pass the space station then be blasted off into space where there’s only the light of the stars and passing planets. One word of caution, this attraction has some low-laying tracks that are really only inches above your head, so do not put your hands up if you’re tall. The ride takes you to through two different lit tunnels before ending back at base.
Space Mountain is one of Magic Kingdom Park’s most popular attractions, so it is highly recommended you get a FastPass+ reservation. If you can’t, try getting there first thing in the morning or last thing at night for the shortest wait. Guests can utilize Disney’s Ride Switch on Space Mountain if a child is not tall enough or there is someone in your group who does not want to ride.
