They wanted to be friends more than anything else and it is an interesting look at the relationship between Albus Potter and Scorpius in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

Albus Potter and Scorpius Malfoy are just two friends who want to experience school together apart from those who want to judge them for the actions of their parents. The problem is that Harry Potter keeps interjecting because he fears the truth about Scorpius Malfoy just as the rest of the wizarding world.

While not giving away too many secrets, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is an interesting exploration of friendship aside from how Harry and his friends were as children. Harry opened friendship as his family but when it comes to his own son, he wants to dictate who Albus can relate to.

Which, Harry Potter should no better that that doesn’t work for a Potter. That being said, it is wonderful to see Harry and Albus fight in a way that Harry probably would have with James had he been around.

But that’s beside the point, if you focus your energy on Albus and Scorpius, it is important to note how much the two of them look to each other for guidance and help, much like Harry and his friends did when they were in Hogwarts. So, their relationship isn’t that different from what Harry had and it’s wonderful to see it again reflected in the next generation.
