Netflix drops bittersweet Orange is the New Black trailer, and we’re kind of weepy
Orange is the New Black will return to Netflix for it’s final season on July 26th. Today Netflix released a new trailer, which is leaving us pretty emotional.
The final season of the popular Netflix show — Orange is the New Black — will be available to stream July 26. Everyone has been speculating as to what the new season will be about, but to Netflix’s credit, they’ve been rather hush hush.
That being said, Netflix has dropped the new trailer today, and we are beyond excited about it.
The trailer opens with Suzanne “Crazy Eyes” Warren (Uzo Aduba) singing “You’ve Got Time” by Regina Spector (the shows theme song). The trailer then shows the rest of the cast singing the theme song as they walk through the OITNB set. The tempo of the cast singing is a little slower, and a lot more melancholy than the original song,
The song is a perfect analogy for the show, but the truth is, do we have time?
The song tells us to remember their faces and voices, and that everything is different, as we pan across the outfits for certain characters — Big Boo, Yoga Jones, Piper, Crazy Eyes, and Gloria.
The trailer ends with Piper and Alex walking hand in hand onto the set, with the song coming to an end. We’ve already seen the cast react to how the show ends, and now it’s time for the audience to react as well.
This trailer is surprisingly sad and giving us all kind of feels that we can’t wait to unload when the new season drops.
I, for one, hope we get a few happy endings, but something tells me that I’ll still be an ugly, crying mess this season. Plus, I’m excited to see what crazy and exciting things happen, as we’ve already had plenty through the show.
