Whatever happened to Teddy Lupin in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child?
Harry Potter has been a father figure since he was a teenager but Teddy Lupin, who he was in charge of, was surprisingly missing from Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.
Teddy Lupin was the son of Remus and Tonks, left in Harry’s care after his parents died in the Battle of Hogwarts. So, you’d think that he’d be in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, right? Wrong, he wasn’t there and we don’t really know that much about their relationship.
Maybe it’s just a casualty of the series, a character that comes in passing and we don’t hear about him otherwise. But he shouldn’t be. Especially since we ended up getting a connection back to Teddy Lupin with Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. It feels like we could have explored that relationship just a little bit more.
Instead, we didn’t get to see him and their relationship that much and it is a disservice to us as the audience. They’re a wonderful pair, Teddy and Harry. They both had to cope and grow with each other after the Battle of Hogwarts and it would have been cool to see where they ended up. Instead, we just get left with a bit of an idea of Teddy.
Does he need a spin-off show? No, not really, but it’d be nice to see a bit more of the side characters within the series, especially since we are expanding the series and looking at different aspects of the world of Harry Potter.
