13. “Danger”

BTS released their music video for “Danger” in August 2014 to promote their debut studio album Dark & Wild. They definitely lived up to the name of the album with this video, since it was definitely a darker, wilder clip. The boys are performing on an empty subway platform and it’s gritty and edgy, and it has all the things that make K-pop music videos so good: choreography, stylish outfits, and great visuals.

First, the boys aren’t wearing cheesy outfits like in some of the earlier videos on this list (like those matching gold chains in “N.O”), but they’re more toned down and still stylish. They all try to look really edgy, too. RM tattoos himself, V gets mad and cuts his hair (fun fact: it was a wig, but he accidentally cut his real hair too), Suga is an intense basketball player who smashes a window with his ball, Jungkook takes a bat to a piano… They’re total badasses!

When you listen to the lyrics, you’ll understand why the boys are so angsty. They’re singing about their girlfriend who isn’t taking them seriously and they’re warning her that she’s in danger and shouldn’t test them because she’s making them mad. That explains all the window and piano smashing — not sure how mad you would have to be to tattoo yourself though.

It wouldn’t be a BTS video without some killer choreo, so of course there’s some of that. The boys dance it out on the abandoned subway platform and in an empty, flooded warehouse and it’s their best so far.
