14. “Boy In Luv”

Not to be confused with their latest Halsey collab (more on that one later), “Boy In Luv” is definitely a fan favorite. This video shows a more playful side of BTS, but also conjures a more sexy, hearthrob image of them. The single appeared on their 2014 EP Skool Luv Affair, so it was fitting that the music video took place in a school.

In “Boy In Luv,” the BTS boys are all in school uniforms going about their business, falling asleep in class, hanging out in the hallways, just the regular things you do at school. They all seem to be interested in the same beautiful girl they see walking through the school hallway (played by Korean model Go So Hyun), and that’s when things get sexy. This definitely isn’t a Backstreet Boys video!

Instead of the song being some cheesy boy band love song, it has more of a rock edge to it. After the opening scene, it cuts to the boys dancing in an empty classroom. The boys sing about how much they want a girl, even if she doesn’t seem to notice them, but they still can’t resist her. They all work together to get this girl’s attention.

This video is definitely shows an improvement from some of their earlier videos. For one, they look sexy and edgy. They throw some story in their, but still keep it simple. And it also shows some playfulness and quirkiness that we’re used to seeing now — hello that bathroom scene with Jungkook and Jimin checking each other out in the bathroom!
