What if Harry Potter did anything nearly as bad as the last episode of Game of Thrones?
We live in a world where maybe Game of Thrones didn’t take the best of turns so when we look back on Harry Potter and the ‘mistakes’ they made, they seem pretty insignificant.
Harry Potter isn’t perfect, on that we can agree. But at least the series didn’t completely rush storylines and ruin characters just to fit the ending they wanted. Which isn’t uncommon in pop culture but still.
With Game of Thrones, so many of us are angry because of what happened with Dany and Jaime Lannister and that’s because we thought we understood these characters. That’s like Harry suddenly throwing all his progress out the window and saying “fix it yourself”. It’d be out of character, wrong, and not what we expect.
So our angry in Game of Thrones makes sense. That being said, it is funny now because we complained and complained about things that happened after the Harry Potter series ended but, even those aren’t as bad as Game of Thrones completely destroying character arcs.
Don’t get me wrong though, we can still mad about Harry Potter. But at least Harry didn’t completely throw his entire character arc out a window just so he could kiss his sister and suffocate together.
Harry Potter has his flaws and the series isn’t perfect but at least we, as fans, can appreciate it and know that at least Harry remained in character throughout the entire run.
