Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD is back in action! How will this first episode back address all of the hanging threads? Will we see a Thanos Snap?

Ladies and gentlemen, Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD has returned!

It feels like it’s been far too long since we’ve seen our SHIELD compatriots grace our screens. Season 5 ended last May, so it’s been almost a full year since we saw them in action (since they weren’t the TV character that showed up in Avengers: Endgame).

In case you missed it, the official synopsis for the premiere:

"Scattered across the galaxy, the team works to find their footing in the wake of losing Coulson."

“Missing Pieces” is an ominous title for an episode, but it also seems very fitting. The fifth season ended with just enough loose threads for us to want a little bit more. Coulson heading off to his inevitable death. Deke disappearing. The hunt for Frozen!Fitz. Mack as Director.

That’s not even factoring in all of the movies that have happened since then and how those may affect the show.

But we’re fairly certain they will avoid falling victim to the Snappening (somehow) or just time jump to five years in the future.

No, Agents of SHIELD has enough going on internally to keep us watching and keep us entertained. “Missing Pieces” will probably send our team to different sections of the world and also space. Finding Fitz will be a top priority for sure.

And who is this new mysterious Clark Gregg character known as Sarge? We can only imagine how much this will hurt for Agent May. Then again–she’s also really good at shutting out her emotions. Seeing her beat up a Coulson lookalike may actually be a little cathartic.
