During the last episode of Game of Thrones, fans finally got to see the outcome of the Battle of Winterfell. In the next episode, we’ll see the aftermath.

After the intensity of last week’s episode of Game of Thrones, it’s hard to imagine what could possibly come next. I mean, sure, Jon and Daenerys still need to deal with Cersei before the series can officially come to a close. But with the Night King and the army of the dead gone, the series seems to be on the upswing—which means it’s likely we’ll have a curveball thrown in our direction during the next few episodes.

From the promo teaser for this week’s episode, it seems that some time will be dedicated to the aftermath of the Battle of Winterfell. We get a few shots of the North burning their dead, and all of the Starks look pretty grim about the events that have unfolded. Daenerys, on the other hand, seems to be handling things better. She’s already toasting to the next war—the “last war,” as she calls it in the teaser.

Cersei and Euron are also back in this week’s episode, and they’re looking very smug in the few clips we get of them. Even with the Golden Company on their side, you’d think they’d be a little more concerned about a queen with two dragons attacking their city. Either they’ve got something unexpected up their sleeves, or their overconfidence is going to get them killed. (It’s probably the former, but we can hope for the latter, can’t we?)

Without the Night King to worry about, the final three episodes will return to the first major conflict of the series: the Iron Throne. And even though some fans are worried this might make the last half of the season underwhelming, Kit Harrington’s statement that this week’s episode is one of his favorites gives us hope. After all, he’s been in a lot of the show’s major episodes.
