As we linger in these last few episodes of season three there are lots of loose ends to wrap up. The trailer for “Chapter Fifty-Five: Prom Night” doesn’t offer much in the way of hinting at such, but it offers a super-ripped Chad Michael Murray with his shirt all the way off, and Betty with a gun.

Now that Jellybean is back at the Jones house and lived to tell the tale about the Gargoyle King, maybe we’ll see a little forward movement there. I guess the editors of this trailer hope to suggest that Betty is going to use her Dirty Harry gun to dispense with the GK, but I think I’d just much rather see a prom storyline.

I mean… I really want to see Cheryl Blossom slay a cocktail dress, and it would be an even sweeter treat to see a little Choni save-the-day action. Now that Luke Perry has made his final appearance (*sniff sniff*), we get Mary Andrews, played by the screen teen queen, Molly Ringwald.

I can only hope she’s hear to offer Archie a good shake about the shoulders and an in-road back to relevancy with the rest of the plotlines.
