The importance of Harry Potter having a father figure role

From Sirius to Dumbledore and the brief glimpses of his own father, Harry Potter really didn’t have anyone to look up to as a father figure and it is important to note that.

Harry Potter didn’t really have a father figure. Sure, you can say he had Dumbledore or Sirius but both were using Harry for something that was outside of his reach and not taking care of him as a father should.

Sirius was seeing Harry as his connection back to his best friend and Dumbledore saw him as the means to stop Voldemort. It isn’t that either of these men had bad intentions if anything they both probably thought that they were helping Harry.

Instead, they were giving him unreasonable standards to live up to because they were projecting onto him. So now, Harry has to deal with the fact that he never really had a father like figure to look up to.

When he has his own children, he truly doesn’t know what to do except look at his father in law and see what Arthur Weasley did for his own children and try and be the best he can be for Lily, James, and Albus. It doesn’t mean he’ll know what to do or be any good at it but at least he’ll be better than those he had while growing up.

Harry Potter didn’t have a father figure but, arguably, he ended up fine.
