Cersei Lannister vs. Hela

There is only one winner here: chaos.

Let us weigh up our foes. Hela is the Asgardian Goddess of Death, who serves looks and slays enemies, leaving nothing but destruction, drama and catastrophe in her wake.

Cersei, on the other hand, is the King’s Landian Goddess of Death (in that she has caused many, many, of them), who serves looks and slays enemies, leaving nothing but destruction, drama and catastrophe in her wake.

You can see how this might be a tough one to call.

Hela has powers, Cersei does not – that might be an advantage, had Cersei not proven already her resourcefulness when it comes to bringing down those who oppose her. She’s been a pretty steadfast advocate of wildfire when the need arises, which could surely give Hela a run for her money.

Despite Hela’s actual Goddess status, we reckon Cersei has the edge here. Hela is ruthless, cruel, and willing to stop at nothing to achieve glory and power. But so is Cersei and Cersei has a slight advantage: she’s a politician.

Hela never did manage to get the Asgardians on her side, and whilst the same can be said of Cersei, she does very often outmaneuver her opponents with a mere arch of the eyebrow and a swallow of wine. She picks her enemies off without ever really breaking a sweat, often before they even know she’s a threat.

Who knows? They’d probably get on, if they stopped glaring at each other long enough to find out.
