Brienne vs. Okoye

These two queens of our hearts are very, very well-matched. Both have led armies, both have sworn oaths to protect their kings, and both have shown unwavering loyalty to their causes in times of great peril.

They are both extremely capable warriors (we’d never want to fight them), who have proven their mettle several times over. Brienne’s chosen weapon is a sword, Okoye’s a spear, but they wield them with similar precision and prowess and honestly, it contributes to our competency kink on the regular.

One difference between them, however, is that Brienne is mocked in Westeros for wanting to be a Knight, whereas Okoye is (rightly) celebrated and revered in Wakanda, as leader of the Dore Milaje. We’re not sure what that means for their chances against one another, but it’s worth considering.

Frankly, though, we can’t see them fighting. In fact, the very fact that Brienne has been mocked all her life makes us think Okoye wouldn’t fight Brienne, but support her unequivocally (so long as she doesn’t threaten Wakanda). Together, they would destroy any man who dares to underestimate our warrior queens!

If they did fight, it would be like D’Artagnan in BBC’s The Musketeers when he mistakenly tries to kill the very men he falls in love with in the next episode. And it too would be a draw. And they would become unlikely friends.

There are some things you can’t share without ending up liking each other, and being scarily good with an traditional pointy weapon is one of them.

Winner: It’s a draw.
