Melisandre’s big return

There are three things that combat the undead well. One of them is Valyrian steel. One of them is dragonglass. And the third is flame. We’ve known someone particularly connected to fire for quite some time, and she didn’t disappoint.

Melisandre touches one Dothraki’s sword, and thousands light up as torches against the night. “I’ll be dead before the dawn,” she tells Davos as she enters Winterfell. She’s known she would die, and yet she returns all the same to aid the living.

But then the lights go out temporarily as the Dothraki are overrun. She comes back after the retreat to light the trenches herself, though it takes her a few tries to do so.
