Bruce Banner

Bruce Banner exists but he isn’t the Bruce Banner we know and love. At the beginning of the movie, Bruce is still not able to become the Hulk and uses the Hulk Smasher when they go to visit Thanos on a new planet. But after the five-year jump, we see a completely different Bruce.

For those fans of the comic, they probably recognized Professor Hulk instantly. Basically, Banner knew that combining both Bruce and the Hulk into one being would be the best version of both Hulk and himself. So, using Gamma-ray technology, Bruce somehow manages to merge both of them into one cognisant being that can exist together always.

Meaning that it is just Bruce as the Hulk so he’s wearing glasses and sweaters. Throughout the movie though, Bruce is mainly there for science, bringing back a glimpse of the Tony/Bruce science bros that we loved so much from the first Avengers movie to figure out just how the time travel works.

His job is to obtain the Time Stone and he does so successfully and then he is the one who reversed the Snap since he is the only one strong enough to do so. Hopefully, he’ll be completely okay from the Snap but we’ll have to see about that in the next phase of the MCU.
