Steve Rogers

Steve Rogers has an ending that has had a lot of fans going back and forth on whether or not they’re happy about it. One of the problems with Steve Rogers is that he never got to live the life that he thought.

In the 1940s, Rogers crashes a plan to save the world, figuring he’d die in the process. Instead, he gets iced for a few decades and comes back to life in the 21st century — meaning he never gets that dance he hoped for with Peggy Carter. Throughout all of Avengers: Endgame, we’re given plenty of hints that Rogers has never let go of his love for Peggy, from holding onto a photo of her to longingly look at the real her when he and Tony time travel to the 1970s to pick up the Tesseract.

After the final battle against Thanos where Steve proves that he is worthy enough to wield the Mjölnir, Steve takes on the task of returning the Infinity Stones back to their original timeline, and in doing so, ends up staying in the past with Peggy,

This means that he doesn’t get to spend his days with Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes but at least he gets to finally have that love story he seemingly always wanted. He never thought he could be with Peggy, but, with the power of the Quantum Realm, Steve is able to live his life and pass on the title of Captain America to Sam Wilson.
