Could the kids of Hawkins meet Pennywise the Dancing Clown?

Is it just a dream of the Duffer brothers, or is there a deeper meaning to the Duffer brothers bringing up Stephen King? With the new It out in the world, we know that Finn Wolfhard, who plays Mike Wheeler in Stranger Things, also played Richie Tozier in the new film.

At the time, many of us just saw it has a fun casting choice, bringing our love of Stranger Things to Stephen King’s terrifying work. But looking at the connections between the characters on Stranger Things to King’s traumatizing demons, there may be a deeper connection to King and his work.

Again, this theory is more just based on the interview that the Duffer brothers gave where they talk about the importance of King’s work to their own, pointing out that Bob’s fear of clowns went back to their own fear of Pennywise. It’s just interesting that Pennywise is who is brought up when Stranger Things does have the connection through Finn Wolfhard.

Does this mean that Pennywise is going to make an appearance? No, probably not. But maybe it means that we’ll have a closer to connection to the world that Stephen King has created in the New England area of the United States.

Maybe the kids from Hawkins want to go to school in Maine and have to go and see King’s haunting adaptations.
