Does Avengers: Endgame have a mid or post-credit scene?
Avengers: Endgame is finally here, we’re only concerned about two things: the fate of mid-credit scene and post-credit scenes.
Warning: Avengers: Endgame spoilers are within this article.
For the last decade, the MCU has mastered the art of making us all cry. Every MCU films shares similarities, whether it’s in its cinematography, storytelling, its quirky Easter eggs, or the stellar cast.
Another commonality is the post-film-going anticipation. We’re talking about the mid-credit and post-credit scenes every … well, almost every MCU film has this in common. Breaking tradition, Endgame won’t have any mid or post-credit scenes, but we’ll fill you in on what to expect. (You know: While you collect your thoughts and sob through the credits reel for nostalgic purposes, or to dry your eyes.)
We’re still not over our reactions to the film, but we’re devastated over the fact that there aren’t any mid or post-credit scenes at the end of Endgame. Forbes reports there are seven minutes of buffer space between the end of the film and the end of the credits; however, there’s no ominous teaser at the end of the film.
This is the first of the 22 movies in the cinematic universe’s history that doesn’t have some kind of scene in between or after the credits. No teasers for the next film or the next MCU phase. It just makes the wait for Phase 4 even more ominous.
Granted, that doesn’t mean the film leaves us with a generic yet touching credit reel while we stew in our emotions.
The graphics in the credit don’t necessarily recap the MCU or any specific character’s journey, but we do see some portraits of characters as the credits roll. For example, those who weren’t a part of the original Avengers — such as Loki, Okoye, and Captain Marvel — have their names superimposed on the screen over a memorable scene of theirs. As for the original six Avengers, they get the same treatment with one special addition — their name appears as a signature first, then a text version.
Along with these visuals, there’s a noticeable audible sound of metal hitting metal at the very end of the credits, and moviegoers have pointed out it sounds like Tony Stark building his Iron Man suit.
We’re still contemplating why Marvel decided to omit a mid and post-credit scene, but at least Avengers: Endgame credit sequence isn’t completely bare.
