Taylor Swift apparently prepared for her Cats role by attending ‘cat school’

Taylor Swift already is known as a cat lover, but the singer really got her paws into her Cats movie role by attending a school… for cats.

Taylor Swift: Singer, actress, cat lover, and now…Cat school graduate!

In preparation for her role as Bombalurina for Cats, Swift’s revealed attended an actual cat school. The singer is famous for her affection for cats, thus it seemed only natural she’d want to fully prep for the role in such a creative way.

As for whether her own celebrity pets played a role in the singer’s decision to portray a kitty in the movie, Taylor revealed that she was motivated to take on the challenge “for the ladies.” Those ladies are a reference to her precious purr factories.

One cat is named Meredith Grey in honor of the lead of Grey’s Anatomy and the other is Olivia Benson, from Law & Order: SVU.

To get ready to portray a cat, Swift shared that she headed off to “cat school, which they have on set readily available for us.”

Now if you’re curious about what classes are offered in cat school, the singer did not specify. However, she did reveal that she feels successful in studying “how to be as much like a cat as I possibly could.”

While it’s a mystery what cat school entails, or if other Cats actors such as Idris Elba or Jennifer Hudson took courses, we have a few humorous ideas of what happened on set. Perhaps Swift and fellow cast members perfected the art of purring, or took a form of feline movement classes that taught one to prance and paw about as our kitty pals would?

What we do know about the on-set preparation for Cats is that Andy Blankenbuehler will serve as choreographer, and the cats in Cats will be more cat-like than humans dancing about in cat suits. The film will, instead, transform its actors into CGI feline beings.
