Empire season 5 episode 16 live stream: Watch online

As Jamal and Kai take their vows, Cookie has to deal with breaking hers in the latest episode of Empire, “Never Doubt I Love”

On the latest episode of Empire, Jamal and Kai tie the knot, someone’s pregnant and someone else (maybe a few people) have secrets that will explode.

The Empire Spoiler TV synopsis notes that Andre will make a life-changing request of Lucious (presumably related to his cancer diagnosis), Terri drops a huge secret on Cookie and Damon might spill the beans on his and Cookie’s almost-affair. All the while, Attorney Conway closes in on Lucious and Empire — but without Kingsley’s help, you have to wonder what the break in her case will be.

This close to the end of the season there’s no telling what will happen. We do get a glimpse at Terri’s big secret  when she tells Cookie that she’s pregnant. The question is, does Andre know and, given his illness, will he be excited to have another chance at fatherhood?

So far, Jamal and Kai’s wedding looks like it will be every bit as extra as we’d expected — Chaka Khan is even performing. But, just like Hakeem and Laura’s almost wedding in season 2, which turned into Lucious and Anika’s actual wedding, I wouldn’t hold my breath for the two to get hitched without a hitch.

However, we’re nearing the end of Jussie Smollett’s time on the show, so something will definitely cause Jamal to make a (hopefully not permanent) exit.

Kingsley was also noticeably absent from all of the previews. I wasn’t necessarily expecting him to be a groomsman or anything, but after the last week’s episode basically set him up to be accepted into the Lyon clan (even if it wasn’t the warmest welcome) it’s weird to not see him at all. Maybe Jamal will let him be the ring bearer.
