Avengers: Endgame’s hopeful TV spot has us highly suspicious of what’s to come

One of the final Avengers: Endgame TV spots is surprisingly upbeat, but we’re onto Marvel Studios’ tricks. There’s definitely more than meets the eye.

We’re already mourning the end of an era. We’ve all kept up with the MCU, its 21 movies, and all its cast and crew for about a decade now (depending on when you joined the fandom, of course). It’s been a journey, and now, one of the final Avengers: Endgame television spots has us reliving that journey before the unavoidable dread on April 26.

Needless to say, we’re very emotional. It’s the week of Endgame, so how could we not be a mixture of emotions? While the previous promo for the upcoming film recapped a decade of MCU movies in a complementary impassioned way, the final Endgame TV spot has us feeling a lot (just for much more terrifying reasons).

Chris Evans might be personally campaigning to make us cry before, during, and after Endgame officially premieres worldwide, but we’re already busy crying from the last TV spot for the MCU film. After all, it’s been a long journey to Endgame. As if we really needed a reason to sob about our favorite Avengers, we’re just bracing for the potential rise and fall of our heroes.

We’re in the single digits in regards to our personal Avengers: Endgame countdown, and there’s a lot to take in with this final teaser for the film. From the leading moments, the TV spot seems to set the grim tone for the film. We’re never seen MCU’s Natasha cry before, and we hope this is the last time we do (for the sake of our own tear ducts).

As the trailer suggests, every journey has an end and this final promo illustrates the sentimental value of our favorite characters and their legacies. We’re still unsure as to which Endgame clips are fake or misdirected illusions, but we’re not even trusting the sparse happy scenes in the TV spot. That’s not necessarily because we think the joyful glimpse of Natasha and Clint smiling at each other aboard a ship is a fake scene. It’s just that we don’t trust what inevitable doom will come after that scene in the film.

Even the seemingly cheerful moments might be deceiving. However, we hope for our favorite characters’ sake, they aren’t — because they deserve a least a couple of happy moments, even if they’re fleeting. That’s right, Marvel Studios. We’re on to your painful scheme to give us wholesome scenes only to destroy us, our hope, and our devoted attachment to our favorites in the next second.

While we’re still wondering how we’ll be able to sit through the movie’s lengthy runtime, the final Endgame TV spot doesn’t necessarily give us any new fan theories. It doesn’t fuel any of our other theories either. However, it just ensures we’ll be extra emotional walking into the theater on April 26.
