Drogon the Dragon versus Norbert: Which series had the best dragon in it?

If a series has a dragon, we’re here for it! And with the Harry Potter series, we have plenty but who is better? Drogon the Dragon from Game of Thrones or Norbert?

Drogon the Dragon is maybe the best dragon around but how does he line-up against the dragons of the Harry Potter series? Norbert is, in my opinion, the best dragon there. He is a wonderful part of the story and shows the heart and soul that Hagrid has for these creatures.

Norbert is gifted to Hagrid as a trick but Hagrid, being the loving man he is, takes in Norbert because he’d always wanted a pet dragon. Compare that to Drogon, their stories aren’t entirely that different. Drogon was one of three eggs gifted to Daenerys Targaryen, whose family is known for having dragons.

Drogon, who is the most like her dead husband Khal Drogo, is protective of her and fiercely so. He will attack anything and everyone she commands but he is also a creature with his own thoughts and actions who does, pretty much, whatever he wants.

While we don’t see Norbert much as an adult dragon, he is the kind of dragon that Hagrid is excited to see when he comes back in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. So, does that mean he’s better than Drogon? No but it means that they are very different characters and both amazing in their own ways. Drogon may be one of Daenerys children but Norbert could be seen the same way for Hagrid.
