Jaime Lannister lives (for now)

How do you open an episode and make it tense? By having a very angry Daenerys — or at least a cranky one — addressing Jaime, with Sansa jumping in. (Add in Bran creepily quoting the last thing Jaime said to him before pushing him out the window, and it just gets weird and tense.)

It’s Brienne who saves him by convincing Sansa to the other side of things. With Jon’s agreement, Jaime gets his sword back and has the ability to serve. Of course, Bran says something cryptic later about an “afterwards,” and whether or not it exists for Jaime.

He’s also reunited with his brother as well as his old friend Brienne … which brings us to our next two points.
