Brooklyn Nine-Nine is bringing Harry Potter to the acapella world in the new episode!

It might seem like Brooklyn Nine-Nine wouldn’t have that many Harry Potter references in it but this week, we got a whole acapella scene with Jake Peralta talking about Potter!

There’s no surprise that shows love to bring up Harry Potter and Brooklyn Nine-Nine is no exception! On this week’s episode, Jake and Holt found themselves standing on a college campus and there, an acapella group starts to sing their song.

The catch is that they are big fans of the Harry Potter series and made it go from a normal cover of “Don’t You (Forget About Me)” to something very magical. Basically, it was the same song with a few little jokes about the series thrown in but it was still wonderful to see.

This isn’t the first Mike Schur to make a Harry Potter joke. Before Brooklyn Nine-Nine, there was Parks and Recreation where Leslie Knope would talk about being a Gryffindor and her connection to the series and, before that, there was Michael Scott talking about how the worst thing about prison was the dementors.

It’s a wonderful little easter egg for Potter fans to look for in the series! If we’re not watching the actual Harry Potter series, then we get to see other shows embrace what makes this book series so special.

That being said, we’re going to need them to release this acapella Harry Potter single sooner rather than later. We kind of all want to sing along to it now.

Next. The news is wild today so let’s just talk about why Sirius Black is the best character. dark
