Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger will take us into the Darkforce dimension in episode four. But what exactly is it? And what should we expect?
Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger hasn’t slowed down yet in its second season. That’s a good thing—it feels like they’ve found their groove and have figured out a good balance between human conflict and amount of super powers.
This past week’s episode saw Tandy and Tyrone using new aspects of their powers. And the preview for next week’s episode looks like we’re going to get even more from both of them.
It looks crazy—a good kind of crazy:
Marvel shows really shine when they go all-in on the craziness.
So, next week is taking us into the Darkforce dimension that Tyrone’s powers tie into. What exactly does that mean?
Darkforce has shown up in Marvel comics as the years have progressed, but only a few heroes have ties to it. It’s origins are pretty much unknown. But both Tyrone and Nightcrawler use its dimension when they teleport.
Now, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, we’ve seen it on a handful of other shows. Darkforce was in a few episodes of Agents of SHIELD, but more importantly, it was the main focus of the second season of Marvel’s Agent Carter. Remember Zero Matter? It’s just another name for Darkforce.
So what can we expect from this dimension in the coming episode? Probably a lot of craziness.
MARVEL’S CLOAK & DAGGER – “Shadow Selves” – After learning about a group of young girls who have gone missing, Tandy and Tyrone look to see if they can find out what has happened to them. As they get further into their investigation they realize someone else is trying to rescue the girls too, but in her own vigilante justice type of way. Meanwhile, Mina may have discovered a side effect to the big Roxxon leak. This episode of “Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger” airs Thursday, April 11 (8:00-9:01 p.m. EDT) on Freeform. Tyrone can see people’s worst fears. Already in the tiny glimpse we had this past episode, Mayhem see’s Brigid’s worst fear and biggest regret. It’s quite possible—since this is Mayhem and not Brigid—that she may run into O’Connors as well. After all, he’s stuck there, too.
With Tandy heading in there next, will we see more glimpses of her father? Or will she be stuck in whatever Mayhem gets herself into?
It looks like Tyrone’s going to be back in hot water with the police, too. Can we hold out hope that Tandy can extract both Mayhem and O’Connors?
Cloak and Dagger can definitely go all-out with the Darkforce dimension—and I hope they do. Add in another level of craziness to everything.
