Game of Thrones fans have waited for winter to return, and they were absolutely ecstatic over the season 8 premiere. Here are the best fan reactions of the show’s best moments.
Warning! This post has lots of spoilers for Game of Thrones’ season 8 premiere.
Game of Thrones’ season 8 premiere had the internet absolutely rattling Sunday night. People all over the world gathered to catch the first episode of the final season, and it was filled with enough exciting moments to keep the internet abuzz all night.
This opening episode was all about reunions of characters who haven’t seen each other in a while (like Yara and Euron, and Jon and Arya), and two important characters who are finally meeting after eight seasons (looking at you, Sansa and Daenerys.)
Below are some of the best Twitter reactions from Sunday night’s episode. And let’s start with the very first scene that had everyone cheering, the new opening. (Did you catch the torn down wall caused by Daenerys’ dead dragon from last season, for example?)
Then, surprise, surprise, Arya and all the Stark children are finally back together again once — and Twitter cried out with joy.

Oh, and let’s talk about that side-eye between Daenerys and Sansa.

But let’s also not forget about Cersei, who absolutely gives zero you-know-whats about the dead coming. That’s right, the evil queen is back, and we missed her!
But really, one of the purest moments of the whole show was getting to see Jon take a joyride on one of Daenerys’ dragons.

Until things got, well, a little awkward…

Speaking of the elephant in the room, Jon Snow finally got the news, and he was shook. Samwell was basically Maury Povich this episode.

And then, well, well, well…. Jaime Lannister arrived in Winterfell and immediately saw Bran. More awkwardness ensued in the final moments, and at this point, we’re certain this season is going to be full of awkward moments.
