Hermione Granger is a Gryffindor but should she have been a Ravenclaw instead?

We know that Hermione Granger was surprised she was in Gryffindor but why did the sorting hat choose to put her there instead of in Ravenclaw? Was it the right choice?

Hermione Granger was placed in Gryffindor but it has often been questioned by fans. A book worm who loved to learn, Granger seemed like the poster child for a Ravenclaw but it seems as if there is something off about her placement in Gryffindor.

Here’s the thing: Gryffindors chose to be so. There isn’t a Gryffindor that didn’t believe they weren’t brave. Part of the thing about being brave is that you have to believe it yourself so having someone like Hermione and Harry (who both should have been in different houses) it is clear that they’re two characters who are dedicated to their own growth and bravery more than those other aspects of their character.

For Hermione, she may be book smart and love to learn but she is always on the front lines with Harry and Ron, always right alongside them ready to fight. Which means that she is exceptionally brave as well. So she may not have chosen to be in Gryffindor herself but there is that aspect of her character that makes it obvious that she would fit in there.

Or maybe the Sorting Hat knew that Hermione needed to help Ron and Harry. Without her, who knew where they would be. No matter what the reason is, Hermione Granger is a Gryffindor and it makes sense. She belongs among those who are brave at heart.
