Game of Thrones season 8: Daenerys apparently doesn’t have the best odds to win the Iron Throne
Of course Las Vegas has found a way to get in on the hot Game of Thrones action, laying out a fiery take in terms of odds to win the Iron Throne.
Time is short to collect your spices and hot takes, then make your final pre-season 8 Game of Thrones predictions, fans. Las Vegas has jumped into the action, per OddsShark, and here’s how the market currently stands for bets on who will ultimately win the Iron Throne.
First off, Daenerys Targaryen is not in first place, nor second, nor even third. Instead, she’s tied for fourth with Gendry of all people, with both at a +700.
Granted, we shouldn’t take this all too seriously, because Petyr Baelish is in fifth place. Presumably oddsmakers don’t know that he’s dead … or they know something we don’t know about the return of Littlefinger. Sure, he might be a slightly older corpse, but maybe the Night King will resurrect him just for kicks. Chaos is a ladder, and Littlefinger could keep climbing even as a member of the undead. No theory is too outlandish at this point, as OddsShark notes.
Anyway, the places above Daenerys are laid out with Sansa Stark in third at +500, Jon Snow in second with +350, and Bran Stark in first at +220. OddsShark says that Sansa gets some betting because of her storyline, which lines up, but we don’t think her ambitions go so far as to be the queen of all Seven Kingdoms. As for being Queen in the North, though, we can get down with that.
As for Jon Snow, well, as the scion of two great Houses, betting on him to win it all is, as always, quite safe. Bran is the real surprise, but then again, Funko did release that Pop! that puts the Night King on the throne, and OddsShark refers to the infamous theory in its justification.
However, there’s also betting on Jaime Lannister. He’s about midway down the list at +4000, and he comes right after his twin sister, Cersei. Although we don’t hold out hopes that Jaime will even survive the eighth season, we appreciate the effort to include him.
We know we’ll be updating our predictions even as Game of Thrones airs Sundays starting April 14!
