Beyoncé is bringing us new music and a Netflix documentary soon

Beyoncé has two new projects coming up. First, new music is on the way. Plus, she’ll be getting a new Netflix documentary about one of her greatest moments on stage.

The dry spell the Beyhive’s been through without new music from Beyoncé is finally coming to an end. Yes, Beyoncé did work on a collaborative album with husband Jay-Z in 2018, but nothing beats a solid solo album from Beyoncé.

Finally, Us Weekly is reporting that Beyoncé is recording new music. This won’t be for a completely brand new album, but Us Weekly’s source says that she has a “couple of new tracks [for] a deluxe album filled with old songs.”

For long-time Beyoncé fans, this should be a real treat — to not only get new music, but to also hear new takes on old songs. What would the 2019 version of “Crazy in Love” sound like? Could we get more songs in Spanish like with B’Day? Or (please) can we get Beyoncé to rap Sean Paul’s verse from “Baby Boy”? Those are just a few suggestions if Beyoncé needs some more tracks to add to the album.

Aside from Everything is Love with Jay-Z, the last album we got from Beyoncé was in 2016 with Lemonade, making it almost three years since we’ve gotten a full solo album from her. Even if not all of the tracks are completely new, we’ll hang onto anything we can get when it comes to hearing more Beyoncé.

Aside from the new album, the Beyhive can also look forward to seeing a Netflix documentary special from her soon. Us Weekly has revealed that the documentary will focus on her head-turning, headline-making performance from Coachella in 2018. It was a performance that brought HBCUs to the Colorado Desert in California, and it stands as one of her best performances to date.

The performance featured guests like the dancing duo Les Twins, Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland from Destiny’s Child, and her little sister Solange — making it the perfect documentary to get some behind-the-scenes looks at. We’d love to see how rehearsals went down for such an epic performance, from the celebrity guests to all of her backup dancers and musicians.

There’s no date set for when the album and documentary will come out. But this may prove that only Beyoncé will convince us to keep our Netflix accounts after they raise their prices.
