Sansa Stark

Sansa Stark is forced to learn many difficult lessons during the first several seasons of Game of Thrones, but the wisdom she’s gained from her days in King’s Landing has begun to show during the past couple of seasons. Even without Jon around to take charge, Sansa has done an impressive job of keeping Winterfell and its people in order.

Many fans have predicted that Sansa will perish before the series’ end, and unfortunately, that is one way that Sansa’s story could go. With the Night King headed toward Winterfell, all of the characters are in danger, but that danger is more exaggerated for any of the characters who can’t physically protect themselves. While Sansa has the political know-how, she’s never been one to wield a weapon against her enemies.

If Sansa does survive the Night King’s attack, however, it’s probable that she’ll become the Wardeness of the North. Of all of the Starks, Sansa seems to care the most about what Winterfell stands for and about their Northern allies. Bran and Arya have little interest in holding any sort of power in the North, and though Jon’s interest might rival Sansa’s, it’s unlikely he’ll maintain his hold over Winterfell once he learns that he’s a Targaryen.

Many fans are certainly hoping that Jon will leave Winterfell in Sansa’s care, as she’s already taking well to being the “only Stark in Winterfell.” Not only is she readying her people for the long winter that’s approaching, but she’s eliminating any threats to her home and family, Littlefinger included. Sansa’s come a long way since her naive days being engaged to Joffrey, and we hope to see her truly embrace her leadership qualities before the end.
