“Hero” – Enrique Iglesias

Nothing screams early 2000s quite like Enrique Iglesias and Jennifer Love Hewitt… and the song “Hero” for that matter. They were both sex symbols in their own right, and putting them together in a video as a couple of sexy bandits was sure to be a success.

The opening shot shows the pair driving through the desert in a convertible with a big bag of money flying around in the backseat. Iglesias starts serenading Hewitt when they stop to get gas, and even though it seems like everything was going right, someone was out to get them. Mickey Rourke plays the man hunting them down, and he manages to track the pair and confronts them outside of a rundown church.

Before that confrontation, though, we get a gratuitous scene of Iglesias and Hewitt making out as he rubs the stolen money all over her body. Hot, but so, so unsanitary. After more kissing, Mickey Rourke pushes Hewitt aside to confront the real target. The singer strikes him across the face, and that’s when Rourke starts brutally beating him with a blunt object. Later, the police arrive to an injured Iglesias and a crying Hewitt in the pouring rain for the perfect melodramatic ending.
