Harry Potter legend has joined cast of Game of Thrones prequel series

The Game of Thrones prequel series has gone and added a little more magic from the world of Harry Potter as they enlist a Wizarding World legend to the HBO series.

There isn’t a huge amount of details available about the up and coming Game of Thrones prequel series, but one thing we do know for certain is it will feature a famous news reporter from the world of Harry Potter. Miranda Richardson, who played the notorious Rita Skeeter in the Wizarding World franchise, has been cast in the HBO series.

News broke recently about Richardson being cast in the series, and she is not the first cast member from the world of Harry Potter to join the series.

Prior to Richardson being cast, they announced a list of eight cast members joining the series. Among the names was Jamie Campbell Bower and Toby Regbo, who played Albus Dumbledore and Gellert Grindelwald in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

It was a very minor role in the world of Harry Potter, but a role none the less. They also reprised that role in the most recent Wizarding World movie Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald.

Unfortunately, details about Bower, Regbo, and now Richardson’s role in the Game of Thrones prequel series are non-existent. With everything remaining under lock and key for now.

Fans are speculating Richardson may be appearing as a descendant of House Lannister, based on the color of her hair. Lannisters are known for their golden hair and so the connection came about fairly quickly.

This, of course, assumes that Richardson will keep her natural hair color, she could very well change it or wear a wig so if we’re being honest, it’s a bit of stretch. It is an understandable stretch though. Right now we will need to keep our ears close to the ground to see what happens next. Fingers crossed we will be learning more details shortly after the Game of Thrones Season 8 finale.
