Could Ant-Man be carrying this important item in the Avengers: Endgame trailer?

We may have answers to how the Avengers could use the Quantum Realm in Avengers: Endgame. A certain item from Ant-Man and the Wasp may definitely come in handy.

When it comes to the MCU, I’d really love to argue that you don’t have to watch all the solo movies to understand the Avengers movies. And yet, with every passing day, it’s harder to say so — given how much background information is planted within those movies that come to fruition later on.

Take, for instance, the latest find from the Avengers: Endgame trailer which may be showing an important object we saw back in Ant-Man and the Wasp. Before reading on, know that there are spoilers for Ant-Man and the Wasp. And if you haven’t watched that yet, I truly encourage you to see that before you get back to reading this and watching Endgame.

As Twitter user @QuidVacuo_ found on Sunday, the Instagram trailer for Endgame actually reveals more of the movie’s frame vertically than in the standard-cut trailer for YouTube. That is, the Instagram trailer is almost like the IMAX version of the trailer, allowing you to see more beyond the black bars.

And with this additional screen real estate, you can actually see that Scott Lang is dragging something by the handle when he appears in front of the abandoned-looking house.

Fans like @QuidVacuo_ and others on Reddit seem to agree that Scott Lang isn’t carrying some ordinary bag. He may actually be carrying Hank Pym’s portable lab with him. (You know, the big laboratory building that he can shrink using his technology.)

As one user pointed out in the Reddit thread, the shot in the trailer aligns with photos from the Avengers set in 2017. In one of the final photos, you can see Paul Rudd holding a handle, with the object either cropped out of the picture or not there at all (meaning the tiny building could be added in via CGI during the editing process).

One nitpicky thing is that in the set photos, the handle looks more like one you’d see on a wagon versus the one in the Endgame trailer and in Ant-Man and the Wasp. But regardless of what the set pictures look like, in the trailer’s final cut, the handle looks exactly like Hank’s lab. And now, that’s shedding more light on the integral part the Quantum Realm may play in Endgame.

First, this scene lets us know that Scott Lang is able to exit the Quantum Realm after being trapped, but quite some time may have passed once he’s finally out on the other side. Just take a look at the overgrown brush on the house that he’s outside of. Add that on top of the overfilled garbage cans and the worn-looking missing posters, and you’ve got a case for Scott Lang coming out of the Quantum Realm way after the snap. (And if that doesn’t convince you, let Black Widow’s short and blonde to long and red hair convince you that we’ll see a time jump in the movie.)

Most importantly, Scott wheeling around the lab could mean the portal to the Quantum Realm that Hank created will be important for the Avengers. Some fans around the internet have speculated that the white suits we saw in the trailer are actually the suits they use to travel to the Quantum Realm. The red design at the neck and shoulders of the white suits in particular look exactly like Ant-Man’s old suit, so we’re becoming highly suspicious of that.

What we can’t say for certain is why the Avengers would want to use the Quantum Realm in the first place. It may help them to travel back in time, or it may help them to find the space in between wherever the souls of those snapped away have gone.

Chances are, Scott Lang could come to a world that’s had to deal with the snap for quite some time. But luckily for the Avengers, he’ll be just what they need.
