Twitter went a bit crazy with the Harry Potter jokes this weekend and talked about what J.K. Rowling would reveal next as a ‘secret level’ of the series.
Leave it to Twitter to make wonderful jokes about J.K Rowling and the Harry Potter series. When Rowling continued to point out things about the series after it ended, fans started to make fun of how cool this alternate Hogwarts is.
We never got to see the fun things that Rowling is sharing about the series so, naturally, we all want the love story between Dumbledore and Grindelwald actually on screen. Since we haven’t seen it, Twitter decided to have a bit of fun with it.
The jokes went on, ranging from people joking about the news that Rowling actually broke and then some made jokes about things we think that Rowling could admit later on.
It is fun to mock this news because again, we haven’t actually seen it in the series, but it brings up a wonderful point: Fans want to actually see this representation in the books and on screen. Saying after the fact that Hogwarts was diverse when we didn’t see that in any of the movies is why fans are angry.
We just want the inclusion and the representation that Rowling is promising exists to actually…well exist. Saying something is one thing, doing something about it is something completely different.
Maybe we’ll get to see Grindelwald and Dumbledore in Fantastic Beasts 3 but, until then, we’ll have to see what J.K Rowling says versus what she actually does.
