The power that Felix Felicis has with those who can obtain it

We know that Felix Felicis gives you good luck when you use it but what kind of power can it really give to whoever happens to possess it?

Harry Potter won the Felix Felicis from Professor Slughorn and he pretended to give a bit to Ron so that Ron would do well in the Quidditch game. Which brings up a great idea: What power does the Felix Felicis actually have?

With Ron, he performed extremely well because he thought that he had the power of luck on his side. He didn’t though, it was all just to get him excited and confident. So is that a big part of the potion? You just think you have this luck so you’re more confident and it makes it better for you to carry out your actions?

Or is there real power behind it? If that’s the case, it was a good thing that Harry ended up with it and not someone else. If Draco Malfoy had gotten possession of it, who knows what would have happened at the end of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.

Let’s be honest though, if we could use Felix Felicis ourselves, we definitely would. All of us would love the ability to forget about our problems and have luck on our side. Even if we ended up learning that there was no real luck to the potion to begin with. That confidence would be enough.
