Chaos Walking

Chaos Walking is a film based on the book, The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness, a two-time winner of the prestigious Carnegie book award. It’s the first book of the Chaos Walking trilogy.

The story is set in a dystopian future on a planet far from Earth, called the New World. We follow the character Todd Hewitt, played by Tom Holland, through this mysterious place where women are extinct. And, though women are non-existent, you will still get the pleasure of seeing actress Daisy Ridley as the character Viola Eade.

The New World having no women is already an outlandish idea, and this world gets even crazier when audiences discover a thing called “the noise”, which is essentially a constant stream of thoughts and images derived from the universe, the animals, and the people of the New World.

This communal gathering of thoughts and images is believed in the community to be the consequence of a sickness that destroyed all the women of the New World long ago. But, as we follow our protagonist, we begin to see the unravelings of a whole new truth. Hewitt’s world turns upside down as he works to discover the real history of the New World.

Talk of this exciting adventure-filled film began in 2017 when Lionsgate announced its initial release date and since then, it has been on every dystopian lover’s watchlist. And, although there isn’t an official release date as of right now because of delays, critics suspect it will pop up on our big screens in mid to late 2019. Hopefully, Lionsgate won’t make us wait any longer for this heart-pumping flick.
