Fantastic Beasts 3: James Newton Howard to return?

Composer for Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, James Newton Howard, is rumored to be returning for Fantastic Beasts 3.

Production has been postponed for Fantastic Beasts 3 but that doesn’t mean there isn’t anything going on behind the scenes of the next Wizarding World movie. Supervising Art Director Martin Foley has already been lined up to return and now James Newton Howard is expected as well.

However, while Martin Foley has been confirmed for Fantastic Beasts 3, James Newton Howard has not. As things stand it is an unconfirmed rumor, but we certainly hope he will be back.

His musical scores for both Fantastic Beasts movies has been a delight to listen to every time and something we can’t stop talking about here at Wizards and Whatnots.

Along with his work in the Wizarding World movies, James Newton Howard has also been involved in other high profile movies, such as The Sixth Sense, The Last Airbender, The Hunger Games franchise and The Dark Knight trilogy.

Other crew members rumored to be returning are production designer Stuart Craig and cinematographer Philippe Rousselot. Both have worked on Fantasic Beasts in the past.

Production is not expected to begin until the Fall of this year. It was expected to begin in the Spring/Summer but Warner Bros. decided to push back the production start date in order to give everyone more time in getting ready to create the movie.

This has had a ricochet effect on the release date, with it now expected to debut in theatres in 2021.
