Watch the Game of Thrones season 8 trailer

Two minutes is not enough, but the new footage of Game of Thrones season 8 will certainly be enough to get you excited once again.

Happy Tuesday, Game of Thrones fans. Not only is there still that cover story from yesterday to pore over, but HBO has been kind enough to finally drop the full trailer for season 8.

It’s nearly two minutes long, and it’s full of all the teases we’ve come to expect.

Below, you can watch it:

Let’s get to some quick reactions. First, who is speaking in this trailer? More importantly, who is not speaking? In order, we have Arya Stark, Bran Stark, Jon Snow, and Jaime Lannister. Cersei Lannister and Daenerys Targaryen do not speak. Nor does the Night King, but we’ve actually never heard him speak, so that’s less of an issue. Jaime is perhaps the most surprising of the four, but he brings home the point of the trailer and neatly contrasts Arya’s lines about knowing death — because he says he will “fight for the living.”

Ah, Jaime. So nice to know you have a sense of honor. His lines also connect to Jon’s, which are about the same enemy they’re fighting: the undead.

Of course, what’s now the thumbnail for the trailer is perhaps most interesting of all the shots we get in the trailer. Are Jon and Daenerys approaching the living dragons in the aftermath of the battle for Winterfell, after dawn has come and the dragons have burned as many of the dead as they can?

It’s hard not to suspect that most of the night shots — including the ones that open the trailer, with Arya running through the halls of what appears to be Winterfell, her face dirty — do come from the third episode, when the big battle is set to take place.

This is it. We’re just about a month away. Stay tuned to Culturess for all the latest in Game of Thrones speculation.
