In honor of International Women’s Day, Amazon Prime is gifting us with some special content to inspire us all, and women are at its heart.

From movies to music and even TV shows and specials, Amazon Prime has us all covered this International Women’s Day, according to a press release regarding this very special day. And while there are some obvious choices, there are other options that you may not have thought of when it comes to honoring women.

Luckily for all of us who want to celebrate International Women’s Day, Amazon Prime is delivering not just movies and television series, but even a curated list of music from female artists who many consider trailblazers. Not only will this be a chance to find new songs to listen to when we need a boost, but this is also our opportunity to expand out viewing horizons.

When it comes to the music offerings, the playlist is available through Amazon Music Unlimited, and all you have to do if you are subscribed to the service is ask any of your Alexa devices to “play music for International Women’s Day.” You will then be treated to music from a wide variety of artists including Ariana Grande (when I asked Alexa the first song that played was Grande’s “God is a Woman” which seemed fitting), Kelly Clarkson, Beyoncé, Sharon Van Etten, and Sigrid among others.

Honestly, the list of musicians is endless and powerful. And having already asked Alexa to play this playlist, I admit that I am already addicted and think you will be too.

Turning to the movies and series that Amazon Prime is spotlighting is like looking at some of the most talented women in Hollywood all in one place. We are talking about movies like 20th Century Women, Annihilation, Forever My Girl, Girl in Progress, Life Itself, The Dressmaker, The Handmaiden, and Precious. And for the variety of series, the options are endless and unique, including Sex and the City, Cybill, Downton Abbey, Orphan Black, and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.

What makes this programming perfect for International Women’s Day, you may ask? Well, it’s the strong women who either starred in the film or series, wrote it, produced it, directed it or any combination of these things. And with so many different genres of movies and shows, there will be something for everyone looking to pay tribute to the trailblazing women of entertainment.

Whether you decide to watch a series or pick a movie to indulge with, there are a lot of amazing options that have been pulled together by Amazon for those of us looking to make women the star of International Women’s Day. From award-winning series to the movies that have left people talking for days and weeks, there are plenty of choices that you may not have immediately thought of when thinking of this celebration of women, and yet once you sit down to enjoy this entertainment you might be surprised by what you find.

Hopefully you find new artists to follow both in the music world and in the acting world. I know I have already (at least when it comes to the music playlist). If you are looking for a great series to binge from the list, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is an excellent choice that will leave you feeling empowered and ready to stand up for yourself no matter what life throws your way.
