Disney+ episodes we think Chris Evans could definitely direct

Chris Evans is rumored to direct Disney+ episodes for Marvel.

Chris Evans could be leaving the MCU for good, at least when it comes to being in front of the camera. However, rumors have been circulating that Evans could direct for Marvel when some of their Disney+ streaming series go into production.

As you can see from Jim Hill Media’s tweet above, Kevin Feige reportedly has offered Evans the chance to direct some Marvel series episodes for the Disney+ streaming service. While this is unconfirmed for now, Evans’ directing could explain the Russo brothers cryptic quote about him not being done with the MCU.

Hopefully, Evans isn’t done playing the role of Captain America after Avengers: Endgame. But, whether or not he takes up the shield again, we would love to see him as a director for Disney shows. This wouldn’t be too out of the ordinary for Evans anyway as he directed and starred in the 2014 film Before We Go.

Below are three specific Disney+ series and episodes we think would be perfect for Evans to oversee from the director’s chair.

Multiple episodes for the Bucky and Falcon series

This is the most obvious and best choice, to be honest. Falcon and Bucky were Captain America’s best friends, thus Evans would have notable insight into their characters. He also knows Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan well after working closely with them throughout the Captain America trilogy.

There are plenty of options here for episodes. Evans could oversee an episode that heavily references Steve Rogers, and in a perfect world, guest star (either as himself in present day or in flashbacks if Endgame rumors end up being true).

Evans could also direct an episode that has some sort of connection to Peggy Carter or the past since these Disney shows will occur in the past, present, and future.

An episode on Scarlet Witch and Vision joining the Avengers

Captain America is also friends with Scarlet Witch and was in charge of training her and other new recruits at the Avengers compound. This episode could be set in the past somewhat and show viewers what it was like for Scarlet Witch (and/or Vision) to become more integrated into the world of avenging since their origin stories were less than typical. Chris Evans also seems to get along well with Elizabeth Olsen offstage, so he could make a great director for an episode of this series.

A Loki shapeshifting episode

Although the MCU hasn’t used this power of Loki’s very much so far, Loki has the ability to shape-shift. This ability could be featured more in Loki’s own series, and this would be another great chance for Evans to both direct and guest star seeing as Loki impersonates Captain America briefly in Thor: The Dark World. While Chris Evans doesn’t have as much of a connection to Loki as some of the other characters, he could likely bring a humorous and insightful perspective to an episode of this series, too.

Of course, there’s no guarantee that Chris Evans will direct any of these series at all, but we can always wish and dream, right? What characters or series do you think Evans would be best to direct? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
