Wizarding World parks at Universal to feature Dark Arts light show

Universal has something dark and sinister planned for us this year. A Dark Arts light show is to take place at both the Wizarding World parks.

Both Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort are inviting guests to visit the park and experience the latest light show planned for Hogwarts Castle. The Wizarding World parks have shown light shows at the magical castle before, but this year it is all about the Dark Arts.

Officially called the Dark Arts at Hogwarts Castle, the light show is scheduled to take place at Universal Studios Hollywood between April 13–28 and then return again between May 25–27. Universal Orlando has yet to announced their dates for the show, but it is expected to be later this year.

Universal is describing the show as being a powerful and breathtaking projection experience. Promising us a dramatic and intense experience. A new musical arrangement will accompany the Dark Arts at Hogwarts Castle show, the music will be based on the original Harry Potter score by John Williams.

The official press release has not given anything away on what the Dark Arts at Hogwarts Castle will show, but considering the theme, I think we can safely guess what might appear. The official promotional image is showing the Dark Mark on the castle, and I am very much expecting to see that at least once in the show. I also expect there to be maybe a hint of Voldemort and his Death Eaters; if not them in the flesh but the iconic black wisps of smoke they leave when they travel and a flash of green light or two.

Whatever might come along, I’m expecting it to be a chilling and mesmerizing experience.
